Speedo calibration question

Speedo calibration question
I have a 1994 Mustang GT with a 5-speed transmission and I installed 3.73 gears about a year ago. I have had enough of guessing my speed and racking up imaginary miles so I bought the driven gear recommended to me by Summit Racing but it doesn't set my speedo completely right. It is now 10% off and reads 1.1 miles for every 1. I'm not sure how many teeth my new gear has but the stock one has 19 teeth. My car came stock with 3.27 gears. The Ford dealership by my house doesn't have the charts anymore so they can only guess and I was wondering if anybody knows which gear I should get. If you know how many teeth I need or a part # it would be greatly appreciated. Thank You, Carl Baxter

RE: Speedo calibration question
I believe you'll need a 23 tooth speedo gear. I went w/ SpeedCal, I like it and can change it for whatever rear gears and wheel/tire combo you have. All it takes is to flip some dip switches in the control box. It's all in how much you want to spend.

23 tooth are for 3:73, 4:10 gears...... Your new gear should be a 23, and it will be off just a bit...
I just ordered my Steeda 23 gear, I put it in next week so when the car is on the street Ill let you know how much mine is off

RE: Speedo calibration question
All you have to do is get on the freeway or any road with mile markers and drive a mile and see how much your odometer is off. Mine read 1.1 miles after a mile so that is an extra 10% so my speedometer is 10% fast.

Interesting article from Chris. At the bottom of his page, some important info on what size gears will and will not fit certain applications.
