Default Rear axle information chart

I searched and did not find this on the site. Found it on google. Have not cross checked it yet.

Check the ID plate on the driver's door and look for the AXLE code. Here's what each
code represents. (O=open, T= Traction Lok)
B = O-2.47 C = T-2.27 E = T-3.27 F = O-3.45 G = O-2.26 H = T-2.26
K = T-3.55 M = T-2.73 R = T-3.45 W = T-3.73 Y = O-3.08 Z = T-3.08
2 = O-3.55 5 = O-3.27 8 = O-2.73

Note that some of these codes are for the 7.5" rear and not for the 8.8".
The most common code for late model V-8 Mustangs is "M".

Credit should go to Gordon Banks, Huntsville, AL

Where the hell were you last week when I was trying to figure out what hears I had in mine? LoL. Finally figured it out, but could have used this chart

Oh, and it seems accurate. My AX code was E, and my gears were indeed 3.27. If I had know that, I would have bought 4.10s instead of the 3.73s I just put in. But I still like how they feel

Unless you plan on some kind of power adder I would recommend ANYONE to go with 4.10's. Unless you have a C4 or somethign with no overdrive because than it will just be killer on gas.
