liquid in upeper intake
Ok i was looking at my intake and niticed some sort of fluid coming out of the pcv valve hose that connects to the bottom of the stock intake. well it was kinda like bubbling a little i guess so i went and took off the upper intake and the tb and egr. i looked and there is alot of fluid inside the intake. i smelled it and i dont think it is gas but oil maybe or a little of both well anyways what could cause the fluid to go up the pcv valve and could this be causeing my engine to kinda bog at higher rpms? well i am going to get a new hose for the pcv valve since it is cracked and i dont know where they sell them but all find it and also was wondering if anyone has a cobra intake they want to sell me for cheap? thnx

RE: liquid in upeper intake
the PCV is pulling blow-by gases out of the crankcase and this gas contains some water vapor which can condense in the intake and leave behind a liquid. there is also some oil and gas vapors in the blow-by gases which can condense also and leave behind some liquid. an excessive amount probably means your rings are badly worn and there is an excessive amount of compression slipping past the rings into the crankcase and then building up in the intake. you might do a compression test to see how bad the rings are.
