Default Clunking in driveline?

If your rearend is going out, will it usually make a clunking noise, or a whining noise? What would give a clunking noise when you get on the gas, but only do it some of the time? Any ideas.

U-joints can make a clunking noise. Get the heavy duty GREASEABLE spicer U-joints.

Where might I find those? (Do you have a link?)

I plan on pulling my driveshaft out this weekend, but I honestly don't know what to look for in terms of a bad u joint. If I pull the driveshaft out is there something I should look for that would let me know the u joint is bad?/the cause of my clunking noise?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think you should just try moving the u joint around and see if it moves freely. If it's binded up, then that's your problem.

leave the car in nuetral wheels on the ground and see if you can twist the driveshaft, if you can a u-joint may be loose(worn). It will be pretty obvious.

+1 on the u-joints.. the drive shaft comes out quick but have the new ones pressed in!

replace your quad shocks the ones that go horizontal. mine made the same clunking when i accelerated and when i breaked hard the axel was moving too much cause the shocks were trashed. replaced and havent had a problem since.
