does your battery do this

i have no problems but i have noticed when i go and hook my neg. cable back up i get a sizzling little sparks from it. and my friends 99 mustang does not do this.do i have a problem that is not showing up yet?

Do you get them after you bolt the terminal down as well? I get them when I make first contact but that's it.

Mine does the same thing. I suspect it's normal.
