HOW TO MAKE YOUR 5.0 POUND!!!
So im doing this write up for all you guys who have verts and want to upgrade your piece of crap mach stereo system to a extremely loud aftermarket system. So first thing i did was relocate the hydro pump for the drop top from the bottom of the trunk to a elevated rear mounted setup. This was to make room in the back of the trunk for two mounted amps (1.Precision Power PC2600 2.Precision Power PCA600/4) Next I pulled my back seats and rear panels to install 6.5" Precision Power PC650S Components (I had to use a air saw to cut the holes bigger to fit the extra half inch) I installed the crossover next to the stock wiring harness and shaved a little off the styrafoam in the back of the panel to fit it when you put the panel back on. After I put the 6.5s in I had to make custom tweeter mounts out of ABS plastic to fit the component tweeters. I then cut a hole in the rear trunk panel and covered it with audio cloth so that the DCX 124 Precision Power 12" Sub could pass air through it into the car.I installed a 3" blade fan under the hole to cool the amps. After that,I started running power wire from the battery (I used 4 gauge) and ran it through the firewall via the main rubber grommet. I also ran a wire along side the 4 gauge to power the head unit directly. (Make sure you use a inline fuse next to battery so that if any shaving happens to the wire, you wont start a fire!) After that,I ran 2 sets of RCA cables under the carpet and under the center console from the truck area to the head unit. I then installed Alpine R Type 5x7" High wattage components in the front doors. I had to cut holes in the mach tweeter box and re-cover in with cloth to fit the new tweeters. I then had to run new speaker wires out of side of the doors and under the passenger side trim all the way to the mounted amps in the trunk. I then ran the Main power wire to a 1 farad capacitor and then from the cap to a gold plated power distribution block, then ran 8 gauge wires from the block to the amps. Then I drilled a hole in the spare tire well to mount the ground wire from the negative terminal from the capacitor. OK all done,oh yea i ran a wire from the fan to the dash so I could install a on/off switch. So after all that (13 hr install at my buddy's shop) i put it all back together and installed my JVC Exad head unit and turned it on,one word, LOUD!!! this system pounds so hard! When the top is down, the bass obviously doesn't hit as hard but the two sets of components make up for it. However, when the top is up...POUNDING! due to the trapped air pressure. So anyway thats what I did to my 95 GT Vert. so if anyone has any questions, just hit me up. I would add pictures, but I dont know how??

Adding a nice sound system is usually the first thing I do in a new car. Right now my 95 GT vert has a single 12' rockford fosgate sub in the rear pushing 600 RMS (1200 Peak.) Then I have the four 220 watt (50 RMS) speakers for the front. Sounds nice, but of course you lose a lot of the bass with the top down.

i have stock amp with a single 400w 8" sub and 200W 6X9's in the back and my mirrors get bounced around.
my friends call it the "ghetto" system because my sub belongs to a HTS setup but it was free and you can feel it punch in the seats
hehe i love when the bass hits and you just feel the punch through the seat

well.. the exhaust wont "punch" the seat like 400w's of bass
heh im pretty sure anyone with a mustang has a decent exhaust.. even those 6 bangers
anyway if thats what floats your boat you should get a motorcycle [8D]
