Default tranny leaks questions...

quick question for you 5.0 guys. buddy has 95 gt leaking from tranny on tail shaft. NOT where driveshaft goes into tailshaft. but there are 8 bolts where i'm talking about.(t5 5 speed). can you get a gasket for it, or do you seal with gasket sealer? i'm assuming tranny has to be dropped, correct? appreciate any help, thanks in advance.

Well make sure you are seeing tranny fluid first. It most likely is oil, probably running from your valve covers. When my valve covers were leaking it went all the way back to the tranny cross-member, even the H-part of the H-pipe.

Thats the tail shaft housing, there is no gasket, you just use silicone. ANd yes you will need to pull the trans to fix that leak.
