udp questions

ok all udp kits are the same right? mac, bbk, march and so on? because if so im going with the cheaper one to save some bucks since im going to be spending about $1200 on parts. next question is deleting my smog pump completely like meanign i bypassed the pulley, with the ud pullies did il ose hp by bypassing the smog? or is it the same?
