Default transmission help

umm, not real firmialer with fords yet, but i just bought an 89 trunk style 5.0, didnt pay much for it, needed a bit of work, a problem i havent had a chance to look into yet is that my first gear is goofy, It will go into the gear, it will move the car in gear, grabs well on the teeth (or so it feels) But it will pop out quiet easily, if you hold it in gear, it will work though, can anybo give me logical ideas as to what this might be, im dont know much about these , im just going to assume that this is a t 5 tranny, (5 speed manual)

Trunk style?

Its your syncronizers............more than likely. You will have to take that in since you are not quite sure what transmission you have....sorry.
