tfs h/c/i help
ok guys here is my problem. I recently installed the trick flow track heat engine kit on my 89'lx. I also have the following mods: 70mm tb egr,73maf,bbk afpr, full mac exhaust. My problem is the car wont stay running. When i go to start the car i have to hold the gas pedle all the way down. When it starts it searches for idle for a bit then will idle at about 900 rpm for about a minute and then die. I have full pressure set at 41 psi and IAC has been cleaned. If anyone could help that would be great since am am a bigginer at building these sweet cars.

Going thru head/intake swap myself right now.
been a royal pain in the *** trying to get stuff like this dialed in.
you need to check the TPS on top of the TB also.
had a guy i met on another forum come over and help me one nite.
TPS voltage was way off, also messed with idle set screw and
found a vac leak....... helped out but still trying to get it right.
you're districbutor or timing might be off too.
Vac leaks? plug'd a vac leak test guage into vac system yet?

RE: tfs h/c/i help
never mind on tps found in in tech section. I have no idea what to try because i have checked the vacum line and see no problems. I have a brand new bbk tb is the tps set from them or do i have to adjust it

RE: tfs h/c/i help
my brand new BBK 70mm TB was way off.
every aplication and engine is different, BBK sets it to something close
but its up to you to fine tune everything for your install.
I'm taking mine in to a pro on tuesday to let them adjust everything
and do a custom dyno tune with chip to maximize set-up.

You think that would be the cause of my problems. It just seems like its flooded so i have to hold pedal down all the way to start it and still wont stay running. I am really discouraged on the whole project. It hasnt been that great of an experience.

I'm feeling your frustration, lol
Yes, you have tweak a bunch of little things to these EFI
systems to get them just right.
mine would barely run and had no power, till i got some
help and tweaked a bunch of stuff. Still not quite right.
but will hold an idle and runs better than it did.
You need to pull the codes too.
