Default distributor disassembly...

i'm replacing the hall effect sensor in my distributor, and so far -----

i've got the distributor out of the engine.
i've taken the roll pins out of the bottom of the shaft near the gear.

does that gear press onto the bottom of the dizzy??? if so, how the hell do i safely get that off of there??

yes there should be a gear on teh bottom of the distributor

ok, got all that apart, new sensor installed ---

anybody know where i can get some of those small roll pins that go through the dizzy shaft to hold the gear and other piece on?? i need some roll pins!!

Man... howed you get that appart without beating the hell out of that gear... I just took dizzy to ford today and had them pull the gear off so i could put a new stator assembly in it and then they just put it back on; the gear is pressed on so I dont see how you got it off without beating the hell out of it without a hammer.

Ohh btw, you can probably get those roll pins from ford direct; i bet they have a drawer full of them...
