Default Night At The Track :(

Man...I dunno what happened. The first time I went to the track i got a 14.7 (1/4ET) Not bad for a pretty stock 5.0 w/ 4.10 gears... I have done nothing else to it except Nitrous...and the basic 'light' tune up I guess. Tonight, my first run was a 15.7 [:-] I was mainly just surprised...but wasn't upset cuz it was just a little run down the track...I didn't expect much. My best of the night, however, was only a 15.1.... (I didn't use Nitrous at all....figured it would have been a waste just to get to the 14's) I dunno if it was the track or if my car has gone downhill....but my BEST 60' time was a 2.49 Anyways...I'm thinkin 'bout doin somethin w/ my tranny.... I feel like my AOD is slowing me WAYYYY down. No shift kit, no stall...not even the ability to hold First anymore for some reason..my shifters jacked up or something. SOMEONE MAKE ME FEEL BETTER! lol...

I'd say get a nice fully rebuilt AOD with a higher stall and your times will be sexy good.

A built AOD maybe better than a T5 in a straight line, but you had to put $500 + in it to make it better, then you still can't shift it like a T5 (stock) I have more fun running the gears, putting myself into my power by shifting. AOD might be better for the 1/4, but a T5 is better to drive IMO

You definatly need a T5, not to mention how much power that AODE is eating up. And get some slicks. That 60 is terrible, i would imagine with a T5 swap and a set of good LCA's and some slicks you could probably knock a second and a few tenths off of your 1/4 times with a little bit of driving experience.
