Default Oh dear God, someone help me!

I am f****** exhausted, I just spent hours trying to do a custom gauge install, hopefully the gauge works. My one remaining job is to get the gauge light working, and for the life of me I can't figure out how to do it. It's an autometer temperature gauge and I just want to make the light go on with my lights (like the stock cluster). The instructions say I need a 12v+ LIGHT wire and a "good ground." Well, it's not too hard to find a good ground, so all that's left is the light wire. I tried hooking it up to everything in the climate control box (above the stereo section) and I can't seem to get a light at all.

Someone help please! What can I hook it to? What color are the wires?

look in the fuse box for a switched source, older cars had one marked light or aux for such a thing

what i did was use a lond piece of wire and run it from the gauge over to
the headlight switch, you'll need to use a hanger for a buss wire to get it over there
and use a 12v test light to probe the wires on the headlight switch to find the one for
your parking lights

Just a question here for you. OK, a couple questions for you.
1. Did you turn the ignition on for the aux when you tried the gauge light?
2. Have you tried using a wire splicer (used to splice a wire into an existing wire)?

Just a some simple questions that everyone forgets about when they are tired and disgusted.
