Default Once I get the money....

This is what I am getting. Not wasting any time or money on my current stock motor which has 134k miles on it.

Has anyone ever installed a new motor before on their Fox body? How hard would you say it is to do something like this. What else can I expect to be buying to make this fit and run? Thanks for any help I can get.

It's not that difficult, but you can do better than the engine you picked out...

^+1000 You can if you are smart about it build a 351W shortblock up with heads and cam and produce a ton of HP within a close price range. You can get the short block in the vicinity of $2500 and heads for $1700-$2000 range and kick some major a** and be far ahead of the game. If you are planning on building serious HP in the future the time to start is now.

My $.02

But why you just throwing the 302 out? 134K isnt alot of miles on a 5.0 roller motor. You can still do alot with it. I mean even with that crate, your still going to have to buy, bigger injectors, a new intake, headers and exhaust, Throttle body, CAI, etc. I mean, get some iron GT-40s with a set of shorteis and a Trick Flow intake, some 24* injectors a Trick Flow stg. 1 cam and your still coming out cheaper than that crate engine and about the same power as its making.

Like i said 134K isnt alot on a 302 roller motor, expicially since you would be rebuilding the heads on that motor you have now by getting the GT-40's. Just do a compression test and if it comes out good, then your good to go on that bottom end.

If you are going to buy that, why not spend an extra $300 and buy this setup instead? For $300 extra, you can get an extra 55+ HP and some extra tq. And you get a nice 347 stroker instead
