call the junkyard and tell them you need a 94 or 95 5.0 out of an explorer. the whole engine complete should be under $500, that will score you a set of gt40p heads and a gt40 intake with the correct egr setup for stangs (latter models used the revised gt40 that takes some work to use on a stang) bolt them on your engine and you should be making 275hp or more.

dont forget if you buy a set of explorer GT-40 heads you will probably end up w/ a set of "P" heads. Sometimes you will get lucky and get the regular GT-40's but not often. If you get the "P" heads then you will have to get a set of FMS headers and the uncoated ones are 359.00. Just my .02 b/c i learned the hard way.

most regularr long tubes will work with the p heads as well as they some away from the block enough for the angled plug not to be in the way. the 94-95 were standard gt 40 heads exact same as the cobra, the newer ones were p's buts its not to easy finding a 94-95 5.0 explorer/ mounteneer in the yard.

My opinion....... if your going to do it just do it right the first time. Instead of paying a few hundred for a GT-40 setup and than by time you get them ported, etc. you can buy a nice used set of aluminum heads. Go with a nice used set of TF or Edelbrock heads.... I was going to pick up a pair for $500 and they were practically brand new w/ rockers and everything.
