Default 8.8 question

I seen this ad on craigslist, and I have been wanting to ugrade from the 7.5.

"8.8 with disc breaks 3.55 gears and a track lock its a 4lug set up so it will bolt right up in to any foxbody mustang you will have to adapt the e-break cables tho it has all the cables on the rear end its self it will also fit 83-88 tbirds"

I have drums on my 83 right now, so what would it take to install this one with the disc brakes?

The seller also said they have 8.8 with 3.05 with drums for sale as well. Anyone think that I should buy that instead? I know little about mustang rear installation so any info would be great.

Thanks!

Default RE: 8.8 question

its out of a tbird, it will bolt into stang just fine but its wider than the stock mustang so you need special wheels. you also need to gut the stock perp valve and use an adjustable. you are supposed to change the master cylinder as well.
