Default Heads Heads Heads...

Well, later on down the road i plan on getting some heads. What should i be looking for? Ill probably stick with just a really good H/C/I combo for a while, then eventually blow it or stroke it. I'm looking to get a lot of power from just the H/C/I, but it needs to be somewhat streetable as well, as its my DD.

thanks guys.

as far as aftermarket goes its easy to make 350 or more at the crank with good heads and intake. afr 165's or 185's, trick flow track heat, and edelbrock performer rpms are great heads. for iron heads the roush (world) 200's are great

With aftermarket what is NOT easy is figuring out what you can really use.
I did some looking a few months ago and came up with 50+ differant heads for 5.0's ......
There are probably more.....
The aftermarket SBF head thing started about '67-'68 with the Gurney-Westlake' heads and has gone on from there......

165's for a mild 302. after 400hp or so the 185's are a better choise.

If you are putting them on a stock shortblock and don't want to notch the piston, one of the best cylinder heads (IMO) you can buy for now that will also have lots of potential for the future would be a TFS Twisted Wedge.

350 at the crank. about 275 give or take at the wheels. its a good value for the money if you want to stay fuel injection. if you went carbed a 650carb, weiand stealth intake, stock 5.0 shortblock and cam, afr 165's, good headers, and 1.7 rockers made 400hp

not true on a stock 5.0

NOTE: Kits were dyno-tested on a 306 cubic inch engine with 9.5:1 compression, a 70mm throttle body, 24lb injectors, 190 lph fuel pump, mass air, and 10° base timing.
