Default Big Block Fox Body

I have decided to go big block with a old 87 hatchback stang. It will be a 460 stroked to a 557 and a c-6 with a 3500 stall. My question is has anyone on here ever performed the swap? What all parts are required to complete the swap? How much more will the car weigh with the 460/c6 combo? Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks, robert

A c-4 would be a lighter tranny so maybe i will go with a c-4 instead to save weight.

That thing is going to be NOSE HEAVY! But as long as your stroking it, it should offset the weight of the big block (which can be 700+ lbs assembled.) But its still going to be nose heavy. Your going to need to get some stiff springs for the front end, or coil overs.

I would go with a Tubular K member to, just for fitment issues.

I think you also have to take the power break booster out, or get a reduced diameter one because the engine intrudes into the area its in.

Id got with a C4 also because its a much smaller tranny and fits better in Fox bodies. Plus they dont use up as much hp as a C6 will.

Big block headers for a Fox start at about $450-$500 so just go with Hooker or kooks racing headers, they're probably some of the best you can buy anyhow.

I agree with it being very nose heavy... I would do a k member, a arms, coil over and drag brakes up front just to shed some weight and get the front end under control.
