Default what bolts do i need?

I have an engine stand, and i just got a 87 5.0 engine (complete) WHAT BOLTS DO I NEED???? what bolts do I need to hold the engine to the stand??? how long, and width, and thread?

lol.. that kinda helps.... does anyone really know? i wanto go to the hardware store tomorrow and get some grade 8 bolts to hoist this engine up.. so i can start strippin her down to build her up this winter!

noone seriously knows? i didnt think this would be a super hard ????? does anyone have a transmission bolt laying around?

its either a 3/8 x 4-1/2" or 7/16 x 4-1/2". get them and a few washers, that will work for most ford, mopar, and gm engines. belhousing bolts are to short.

measure the depth of the tubes on the engine stand, add an inch to that....there is your length

The bolts are 7/16-14. As far as the length goes that depends on the engine stand. The ones in the bellhousing are 2" and 1.5".

I just took my tranny bolts to ace hardware.... found the same size but longer and used them. They were a little long stuff so I used some washers. Prob not the smartest but it worked fine for about a year n a half perfectly.
