i just purchased a 1985 mustang gt 302 foxbody, iam looking for performance modifications for the engine. cams, headers, pistons. Walk me through modifications that i can do to the vehicle for power. any recomendations will be apriciated, thank you very much.

oh ya, the engine is completly stock exept for a edelbrock 600cfm carburator.

one thing i really want to get is a set of cams that have a good lope at lower rpm's but lay down the torque at mid and high rpm's, any suggestions?

get a set of afr 165 cylinder heads, use a weiand stealth or edelbrock performer rpm intake. with 1.7 rockers thats proven to make 400hp at the crank. comp cam xr274hr would be a good cam with that combo (use 1.6 rockers though) you would see 425-440 hp at the engine. the biggest cork on these engines is the cylinder heads. good heads can make 40-100 hp on a bone stock motor.

what model from afr should i go with for heads?

165's if you plan on going mild with the engine, 185's if you dont mind flycutting the valves and plan on making over 450hp someday

i was looking at 165's but dont i have to choose between a couple diferent chamber sizes? i was just wondering which chamber size to choose.

get the smallest non o ringed chamber. that will bost your compression up slighly and help you make power with the stock lover end

OR you can go with a set of TW's and you dont have to flycut the pistons and they basically flow almost the same as 185's.

+1...the way the valves are set into the heads in Twisted Wedges means no fly cutting.
