88, what is better about the mass-back carpet?

Its really up to you. I baught the mass back but havent installed it yet so I cannot comment on the quality but to tell you the trust, if I had to do it all over again I probably wouldnt have. But if you plan/ or have a loud exhaust and want to tone down the interior noise level a little bit than it might be worth it. I mean, its not going to make your car silent but it will help a little bit.

Is it harder to install, bec you have to cut through the mat too?

Yea, Im sure it might make things a little more difficult. Like I said before, I have had mine for quite some time now but just never installed it. I layed it out in my garage though and it looked good. The molding was pretty much perfect too. You just have to cut some holes. Im sure with the mass back in there it might make it a little tougher but not much.

i put new carpet in my 91 hatch. I got it from 50resto. It wasnt hard it was just a pain in the *** cutting it for everything. I didnt get the mass back and i love my new carpet.

I bought some from 5.0 resto without the mass back. The carpet weighs about 1/2 what the oe stuff does. Its a little thinner also. Its a pain cutting the holes (granted I was using a apir of craft sissors). Our was molded fairly decently but it has a lot of rinkles in it. I dont know if they will level out over time or not.
