347 questions

I have a 306 in my car and am looking for more power and also looking for expansion later in time. I was considering a 347, is that the same block or is it a larger sb. Is there a link to any websites with info on that engine. Also whats a good price to pay like what have you guys paid for your 347's?

RE: 347 questions

No.

The stroke is different and the pistons are different.

The only thing that the machine shop will do different is notch the bottoms of the cylinders in a certain spot. I did it myself with a jig and a die grinder. The rest of the install is the same as putting any other lower end together.
