Low Idel

Low Idel
Ok you told me to ask so here it goes. My GT also has one more minute problem. When I start the car up it doesn't start up normally, or like my old sixer did and every other car I've been in, instead of starting, reving up to around 2000 rpms, then droping back down to around 750 rpms, it just goes up to around 1300 or so rpms then drops down to around 400 rpms and almost feels like it's stuggling to stay running. The only thing I can think of is that it may be that the MAF, or IAC sensors are either dirty or not working, but do you guys have any other secondary input on this. Oh, I've done tons or repairs to the car, so an actual engine problem wouldn't suprise me. Thanks.

RE: Low Idel
at what rpm are these cars supposed to idle? mine used to die because it was too low and i would have to rev it as soon as i turned it on so eventually i raised the idle speed. it now stays at about 900rpm. i don't know if that's right but my car doesn't die anymore when i start it haha

RE: Low Idel
in gear it should be around 650-750
in park im right at 800 in gear im at 650 maybe little higher
in the morning idle is 900 but it goes down as it warms up
it should rev a little higher in the morning/first start but not too high i think 2k is a bit high for the first rev.. im pretty sure 1500 is normal and it should sit at 900-1000 and drop down when its warm
