Default Air pump hose routing

I would like to know where the hoses are supposed to go coming from the air pump (87 5.0 LX - 5 speed). There is a vacuum actuated valve mounted directly behind the pump. What does it do? About a foot back further is anothe vacuum actuated two way divert valve. The top hose on the back of this valve goes into the metal tube going the back of the heads to pump air into the exhaust ports. My problem is, the car I'm working on has the lower hose from the divert valve just hanging in the breeze! Where should it be going and by having it unhooked could that have an effect on idle quality? There is nothing I can find to connect it to. Also I'm pretty sure the exhaust is not stock with headers and dual cats. One more thing, I don't seem to be able to find an 02 sensor anywhere in the exhaust. Seems sort of strange to me. Thanks guys.

lower hose goes back to exhausat pipe and pumps air into Cat converters.

no worries, emmissions test just my not be as clean,
it pumps are in behind the O2 sensor so engine has no idea its not hooked up.

O2 sensors are on mid pipe right behind header.
Car woulnt right with out O2 sensors.

what year is the car?

the 02 sensors should in the h-pipe, if it has dual cats on each side, it's stock, aftermarket hi-flow cat h-pipe only has 2 total.

it won't affect idle, but it will sound crappy from it.

i'll post a pic if i can find it, of the whole assy, off the car.

you can eliminate the steel pipe to the h-pipe, but needs to be capped off.
