paint job

RE: paint job
A good body man will do what he can to make that kind of stuff disappear. If it's just surface rust he'll probably fix it...as long as it's not going through the metal. If that's the case, he might put some body compound in for a quick, cheap fix, but you might end up getting charged extra for that. They will sand down the whole car, primer it, paint it, and clear coat it.

RE: paint job
yea man, my bro decided to go with maaco on his chevy van. He did almost all the bodywork and primed all the spots he bondo'd, sanded to the metal etc. He paid like 1k for them to due some extra body work if they saw anything and to do a little bit better job than the super cheapy paint jobs they do. Long story short, they didnt do any body work, didnt do the door jams or any other detailing they were paid to do! If ANYONE gets a job done at maaco get the cheapy one and dont expect your jams or any other detail to get painted, also do ALL the body work yourself cause they dont care if theres a dent or ding or not they will just paint right on over it. If you pay em any extra for detail its a waste in my opinion.[:@]

RE: paint job
sounds like this place is terrible.... note to self..."self, never go to maaco". anyhow i'd save up and get a reputable shop to do it perfect and do it right, i'd say $4K for a good paint job and prep work

RE: paint job
My logic is you get what you pay for. Pay for a 450$ paint job, you get a 450$ paint job.

RE: paint job
guy i met at a target parking lot had a maaco paint job, he had a 96 cobra i think it was. Redone in a kinda forest green some sort of metallic paint looked excellent, had done it at maaco for about 2k i think he said. It was done at one of the new shops around me and it was a very nice job
