Ya know my A/C and heater controls had a little gap on the left side. I didnt know why and never noticed till i made it white faced. When I replaced my consol I got the wrong year console, 87-89 (on accident of course), and then got the 90-93 bezel and it fits better than it ever did, fits perfect now. now i just got a consol thats a little darker than it should be.
You might be able to adjust the fitment of the center consol a bit, I think that was probably the problem with mine.
