so my dad bought a grand national in mint condition for about 15k. i dont know much about them but it is in perfect condition. It has the turbo 343 i think it is? im not sure.

but he will give it to me for 7k and i can atleast get 6k-6500 for my car. So i think i might do it? IM NOT SURE YET.
I'm sorry.... your getting a GN that is.

See, I made the MISTAKE of selling my new '89 5.0 to buy 1 of those POS's! In the past 17 years, i've had 4 V8 Buicks & 2 turbo Buicks. The only good that EVER came from the turbo cars was that it lead me into the Buick community where I discovered that REAL Buicks are V8s! Trust me, school of HARD knocks right here!

I'm a diehard Buick enthusiast not this corporate GM crap! GM sucks, & chevy swallows, anyway if your a Ford guy then stick with your brand.
When in doubt, GAS it!

To heck with turbos.....

Oh, and depending on the driver...they were about a low 15-mid 14 sec car stock. And fixing them up, like fiveliterriceeater said, its pretty exspensive and parts are a little scarse. But they're are companies out there that sell nothing but GN parts.
Sorry.. with A GOOD driver they was high-mid 13 sec cars, & the GNX was a 13.30 car on a bad day! These are the INTERCOOLED '86 & '87 turbo Regals (T-Rs) i'm speaking of. ONLY 547 GNXs built. Then their was the '89 "Buick" Turbo Trans AM pace-car.
I was there back then & lived it, been in the community for 17 years & owned 2 GNs that ran in the 13s BONE-STOCK with regular street tires.
There are those who will argue based on believing what they read... so be it. I'm just sharing the FACTS.

Yes expensive as heck to work on, not to mention the biggest freaking nightmares to work-on. Being is how you have to literally disassemble the freaking engine bay just to work on them.

Point is... if you want to enjoy yourself & have a fast BUICK, get a V8 Buick. (Getting VERY expensive also) If you just wanna have a nice & fast cruiser..stick to Stangs.
If you want to beat your head against the wall & be miserable wrenching on the darn thing all the time, trying to figure out.. "NOW-WHAT" while your friends are walking around with their hands in their pockets between runs & enjoying themselves..by a turbo-car.
