Default Stroking a stock 302?

I have a completely stock 302. eventually im gonna do an H/C/I swap, but i was thinkin about doin a 347 stroke first, so that i could get some cut pistons so i could get some afr 185s instead of 165s. Is this a bad idea, or would i still see more power from stroking a stock engine?

Also, could someone link me to some good stroker kits?

Yea, but on a stock headed motor its still going to be a bit sluggish. But that longer stroke is still going to make a difference but nothing drastic right now. Once you get the H/C/I swap done it will wake up.

Where could i get a stroker kit ? Is it worth stroking the stock block?

Also, with a stroker kit, do the pistons that come with it come cut already so i could run afr 185s?

thanks for the help in advance guys.

Storker kits can be found anywhere. But since CHP and DSS are such ******** and want to be dicks to you on the phone, id go with a Scat stroker crank and some Eagle rods with TRW forged pistons. Your going to spend maybe $300 more than a kit, but its worth not dealing with ****ty people who have sh*t for customer service and take like 4 months to get something to you. Scat cranks are badass and are probably some of the best, the Eagle rods are excellent quality and TRW pistons are great to.

Yes it is worth stroking the stock block, dont go over 500-550hp though, your in the red zone after that.

Almost any aftermarket piston you buy is going to have larger valve reliefs already cut. And if they dont...keep looking
