Drivers side rear sagging 1" on 89 notch....
I have a 1989 notch 5.0 that I have a set of subframes ready to put on, but I've noticed that the left rear is sagging 1" more than the right. 28" from ground on right side to top of fender, 27" on left side. The ground was level. The rear has new shocks but springs look to be original- 100k+. Wondering if the springs are the problem or is the body twisted. I do not want to put the subframes on if the body is twisted. The rear pillars show no sign of possible twist, but who knows. Wondering what to look for, or do I need to go to a body shop.

RE: Drivers side rear sagging 1" on 89 notch....
i've noticed this to with my car.. it's not an inch but probably half an inch or so on the drivers rear.. i just figure the springs are 20 years old and might need replacing.. cause the car only has 54,000 miles on it.. i've looked all around the rear end and nothing is broken and no cracks in the chassis anywhere.[&:]
so i am gueesing just springs man.. but if anybody else has any suggestions i would love to hear them too.

I have a real bad sag on the passenger side rear of my car, and when i pulled my gastank out to convert to carb, i found out that my upper control arm ripped through the mount on the body and was just hanging there. It doesn't move or bang & clang or anything, but when i get on it, the car dips bad on the pass side. Might not be your problem, but it's worth taking a look at if it sags and inch.

Damn, thats one ripped torque box. I ripped one of mine one time, but it was just a little skeet tear, nothing huge. Made some re-enforcement plates and it fixed the problem.
