Timing, b303 cam, and emissions
Hey all. In my '88 5.0 I have a k&n, MAF (car was build in CA so it came with it), a b303 cam, 1.5inch headers, and 3.73 gears. The timing was set to 14 when I got the car.
I had alot of trouble getting it to pass emissions and ended up replacing 2 bad o2 sensors, bad t-stat, bad coolant temp sensor, and gave it a regular old tuneup. During all of this I set the timing back down to the stock 10. Once I got to thinking about it, with the b303 cam I wondered if I should have the timing set up higher than 10.
What is the recomended timing for a 5.0 with b303 cam?
Would I produce worse emissions (higher HC and CO) with the timing set at 14 or at 10?
FYI, I have set the timing back up to 14 and the enging seems to puur a little better.
Thanks
