Default Anybody ever use one of those light batteries?

Hey anybody here ever used one of those light 13-15lbs batteries on their daily driver? I've been thinking of replacing mine with one to clear up a little bit more room under the hood, and to take about 20lbs out the front end... Was wondering how they do in a daily driver... I know some of the honda guys are using them daily.... I plan on upgrading the alt in my 93 to a 130amp PA unit. Thanks

Oh ok i can see it now, ive seen one before. Never used one. I know the optima's were nice, i could kinda throw mine around and run it dead like there was no tomorrow and it would charge right back up no problem. Plus it had some cranking amps, it would fire my car right up. I cracked the case on it and it leaked though....then i got his POS Everready i had and it blew under my hood and f*cked my valve covers, intake and Taylor race wires up with the acid water. I took it back.

But thats pretty cool looking, whats the stats on it, cold cranking, cranking, etc.?

Yeah, I worked at a Car audio shop for 4 years and have owned a Optima since... That would kind of defeat the purpose though, they're no lighter, nor smaller than a stock battery...

i suppose if they have the same coldcranking amps and produce a steady 13-14volts then it'd work just fine, its a lot smaller, i bet they dont last many years? Cool though

I thought hondas had wind up cranks on them?

They will work. They just have to be a 12v battery with a good amount of Ah. WE run one in our lawnmower and I put one in a dastun with had at school. It worked until the dumbasses were driving the car by cranking it while it was in gear (?). The one in the lawnmower has been since at least 2000. THe one in the Datsun was a 12 volt, 18Ah, dry cell. I could easily pick it up wiht one hand.
