buying LX over GT...
Would it be worth it to buy a LX over a GT(ie.insurance, speed, cost), How much faster is the LX, from what I read a GT should run about 15.2 to 15.0, and the LX run 14.9 to 14.5 is this correct? If so is the insurance cheaper for the LX? I love the look of GT but I dont know how fast it is, but all ive heard is the LX is faster.

If you like the GT go for it. There's not that much of a difference unless you're wanting an all out drag car. Are you really going to notice 3 or 4 tenths on the street? I would think insurance is about the same for a fox body 5.0 GT or LX because of their age.

as long as the cars are in similar condition and the engines are runing good you wouldnt notice the difference in speed between the two, and if your going for all out speed why sont you go for the notch?

the insurance rates will be the same as both have the V-8 engine and the insurance companies will know this once they see the VIN for the car. The LX is the lightest version of the Mustang with the 5.0 powertrain is why they are the faster model. One other advantage is you can move the battery to the trunk without needing a spec battery box if you plan on going to the drag strip. All you need is a sheet metal firewall behind the rear seat back.

I thought insurance for the GT would be more expensive then the LX. The LX is faster for the reason that roundmanracing just said. I actually like the look of the LX better, it looks cleaner, but to each his own.
