ORIGINAL: 83gtragtop

I oil up the o ring on my filter but have never put oil in the filter before mounting it, sounds like a mess waiting to happen.

I'd stay away from Walmart. The average person who takes their car to Walmart for servicing doesn't give much of a **** about their car, so you can imagine how much care Walmart technicians will take w/your car.

you supposed to fill the filter up as much as u can before putting it on so its not dry.

you cant really "fill it up"

since it goes on vertical you can only get about 3/4 full

ive done it dry and full before (first time i forgot.. i was showing my friend how to do it and skipped my mind)

at work we dont fill it up tho.. too much of a pain in the @ss but on my own car i like to do things right

My 88 Mustang has 390,000 miles on it. The Farthest the motors been broke into
is a new manifold gasket. Its had Mobil1 10w30, and Amoco/BP 93 octane Fuel since day 1.
Still runs like a charm. If you can't change your own oil, you don't deserve a Fox.
