wtf is goin on?!?!
the last 2 days my car has been blowing steam out of the radiator cap after driving for a little while. ive also noticed that as the car warms up there is a noticable noise that happens under acceleration. what is going on? i have plenty of coolant and oil. any have any ideas?

RE: wtf is goin on?!?!
the coolant doesnt overflow, and from what i can tell the oil is oil and coolant is coolant. the noise that it makes when its warm is what scares me. at first i kinda thought it sounded like i had an exhaust leak, but it only does it when the cars hot. its almost like wrapping sound that only occurs under acceleration. no noise at all at idle or while staying at a constant speed.

RE: wtf is goin on?!?!
Could be a couple of things. First, replace your rad cap. Preferrably with a lever-vent style cap. Drive it see if it stops. Your cooling system needs to be under pressure. I believe it 16psi on a stang. For every psi that you pressurize the cooling system, it raises the boiling pont 4*. In your car that should make it so the coolant wont boil until 276*. So if your cap isnt holding pressure, itll cause your coolant to boil at a MUCH lower temp, 212*. Hope this helps ya.

make sure your cap is tightened all the way. If it is you probaly need a new cap. make sure the tube going to the bottom of your overflow bottle isnt clogged also. Have you used any rad leak or anything like that?
have you messed with the timing? fuel system? if not then start here.
as for the taping or wraping it could be a sticky rod or valve. get a can of motor flush and follow the directions. then replace with new oil and substitute one quart with a quart of lucas oil.
