Default Question for the 5.0 owners!

Hey all, I have a 01 Dodge Ram 1500 right now and always wanted a 5.0 fox body. How are the 5.0s, do you like them as a everyday car, whats the best prices on them, does it really matter if they have high miles, and just tell me anything you could think of.

Thanks

Well ill be nice and reply since no one else will... I wouldent worry so much about high mileage... What I would look at is the actual condition of the car and the person-s that owned it before. Get it checked out by a good tech and drive it(for like at least 30 min) and follow your gut feelings...

Theres alot of people out there who own mustangs and do a lot of dumb *** **** in them. Mustangs are also a big choice for loaded parents to buy their spoiled *** 16y old son for a first car and they get the **** ran out of them. Look at each car VERY carefully and dont be hasty, theres alot of mustangs out there...

yea, well i found one 93 5.0 with 55,284miles. The guy got it in 93 when he was 17... so he kept it for 13 years. The only problem is the weather striping needs to be redone. http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...=en&cardist=24 thats the ling... A guys that knows alot of the 5.0s told me he would only go about 5k tops. What do you think about it and what would you pay?

thats a real clean nice looking car. Although i would agree i prolly wouldnt go much over 5k, but it has very low miles and some good heads and intake on it so if its worth it to you i would understand going more.

One thing that you need to look out for when buying a mustang is hack jobs. Due to the incredibly abundent amount of parts available for mustangs there are people out there that use them as their first project car and therefore don't really know what they are doing. But other than that if you find one that isn't hacked their great cars, I love mine and would never sale it. I paid 4500 for mine w/ 150k but in mint condition, so unless it is extremely low mileage or is heavily modified I wouldn't pay more that 5000 for a 93. But as far as the daily driver aspect it depends on where you live. When I lived in S.C. it was a great daily driver but here in New england I only drive it when it's nice because I don't want to tear it up in the snow but I do see some people w/ snow tires that drive them during the winter so I really all depends on you. But I wish you the best, and when you buy one because when you drive it you will buy it, make sure we get pics.

Red fades and it has some fade on the front bumper and probabally the whole car.................red is notorious for that. But its nice and clean and someone has put some nice gauges on it which tells me it was also run at the track ?? maybe? or just for street cred??? Regardless it tells a story..not grandmas car.

That intake looks aftermarket but I don't own fox but I am pretty sure they did not look like that?

Good buy for 5,500 if the paint is still good..........................
