Default Still Unclear

I know this is a completely exhaused topic, but with so many experts on this site, I'm asking again.

I' want to do cam/heads, and soon, but want to see what type of cam, lift/duration/brand you'd recommend with my set up. Also I'm looking to do AFR competition 165 heads and wondered what type/length of hardened pushrods you'd go with. I'm also planning on the Crane 1.7, 3/8 stude mount RR's, unless that's not a good mix.

Well id go with a Supercharger cam, Custom grinds can be ground for your s/c and work best with it, the 303F cam is a supercharger cam, lots and lots of top end power with it, i run it N/A and its got tons of top end on it, i like it. Probably work good with 5psi. its got .512/.512 and 226/226, so its not to radical.

I personally would buy AFR's and call Comp Cams and tell them what you have....a cam tech will know what you need more than we do

stock length push rods are fine...if you are leaving the bottem end alone go 165's...42's atleast on the injectors....now you do realize that block might not last very long?

That's the best input I've gotten so far.

I've also heard a bunch of good things about Jay at Camshaft Innovations, but looked at the build sheet and realzied I can't 1/2 of the stuff they ask on it.

I also know about the block not being around for the long haul and a friend of mine that's a mechanic is pricing out a 331 stroker for me.

The pushrod length is determined by how radical or mild a cam you go with, right?

Ok, if I were you Id go with the AFR 185's, 165 are just too damn small. And as for a cam, call crane or comp and have them cut a custom grind. Itll be prefectly matched to what youre running, rather than a generic cam. And as for length of your pushrods, theres a tool that you need to measure em, there is no set length.
As for your rockers, 1.72's will make more peak power, but the stock 1.6 ratio will make more power through the whole rpm range. Unless all youre trying to do is get more lift without the added duration. If thats the case then go with the 1.72's.
