Default 1993 mustang help

Hello,

I'm new to these boards and looking for some help. I have a 93 5.0/5 speed that I can't get to run. She will start in the crank position but will shut off immediatly in run position. I have changed the ignition switch and still no luck.

Any ideas is appreciated.

YOur not getting gas or spark and it sounds more like gas if it will crank but not run. Usually it will not even crank without spark and if your getting spark but not very well it will just run like sh(t, but it cutting off, something to do with fuel is my vote.

Check FP relay under seat or near the passenger front inner fender below intake. And stick your head by gas tank and see if the pump is cutting on, you will hear it wine for a sec with the ignition switch in the 'ON' position.

Is it not cranking up at all? Or is it running for like 5-10secs then cutting back off?

I meant the 'on' position, like the position you would turn it to if you were just going to like listen to the radio or roll your windows down or something. And when you turn it to that positon it primes the fuel pump, if or somebody puts their heads near the gas tank, you'll hear the pump cut on and whine for a minute. If it doesnt then you know something is wrong with it or the relay or 0 inertia switch.

The car runs in the crank position. As soon as you let the key fall back to the run position it dies. I will shove my head by the gas tank tonight and see if I hear anything.

Yea, i would do that. Also change the fuel filter, theyre dirt cheap and it probably needs it.
