Default Carb AFR 165's

Question for all you carbaurated guys out there. I have a 83 5.0. I was thinking of going with some AFR 165' heads and an A312 Ford Racing cam. My questions are.... Is this a good cam for these heads? I have an edelbrock performer intake, would i have to upgrade my intake to say a performer RPM or does the performer flow well enough? Also will the stock 600cfm Holley carb be enough?

The performer is smog legal, which is why i want to try to keep it. So are the AFR 165 heads. The A312 cam is not but i think i could get it to pass because 83's have a little more room then the fuel inj. cars do with the sniffer.

You probably could...i dunno about smog laws, but i dont think they should even have them for a carbureted car imo. Its stupid and pointless.

the perrformer rpm or stealth would be ideal. the performers have asways been more of a stock replacment. you will make around 310 at the crank with a performer, the highrise rpm or stealth would be it close to 400 hp.
