92hatchlx' that thing should feel like a totally different car with that converter now. how bad is your tire spin?
I have horrible traction problems, won't hook whatsoever in 1st gear, unless I baby it. 2nd gear's not too bad though. I need to work on my suspension.

I use a PA C4 with a full reverse manual valve body, 3800 stall. Good enough for 10's. Hopefully 9's soon.

I bracket race mine, and it seems the most consistant thing to do is to leave it in Drive, and then after it shifts into 2nd, give it a bit and pull it back into 1st. This will lock it into 2nd for the rest of the 1/4 mile run. Course, this is with a stock AOD and 3.27 gears, so you may hit redline in 2nd if you aren't careful. Mine just hits redline at the 1/4 this way in 2nd. At the line though, I hold the brake with my left and just give it enough gas to take the slack out of the drive train. Mine likes to try to start spinning at about 1200 RPM if I am not careful with it.

slicks or good drag radials will fix the spinning problems. every car is different, some like it flashed and some like to be stalled up. mine likes to be flashed from 1200rpms. best 60ft on motor was 1.69 and 1.49 on the spray. 3000stall lock-up.
Best advice in the whole thread. He is correct every car/combo likes different things. Drag radials at the very least are a must if you any traction at all.
