Default HELP! SPRINGS

I was going to do my springs today I bought BBK lowering springs front and back, they drop the car 1-1/2, i was wondering is there anyway that i can remove the front shocks without a spring compressor? and are spring compressors vehicle specific? [:@]

Thanks guys

+1 Just undo ur swaybar link, break the balljoint and then just push the control arm down as far as you can and rip that spring outta there.

I have heard you need a spring compressor to get the front springs out but i dont know if you actually do, it might just make it easier. Shouldnt need one to get the new springs in though... I'm not sure how much foxes differ from my SN95.

thats a good way to get someone killed. i was pulling the front coils out of my old s10 and one went thre the garage door. as you are dealing with a strut you shouldnt need one if you put a jack unger the conrol arm. if you were dealing with a real coil spring you need to compress it

Nope is not that easy... since you have the lowering springs i bet u might be able to throw it up in there. but i would use spring compressors b/c i but the oem springs back in mine and it was a bitc*.
1. i say remove the strut so u have room to work.
2.lower the lower a arm
3 if yo u can rip the spring out do it.. but those springs have a lot of tension if there the orignals so be careful
4. Put the lowering springs back in and bolt up
