Questions about Heads, Intake, Cam combo..
I plan on going with AFR heads.. What is the best size? 165 or 185?
I will be going with hooker LT supercomp headers, bassani X pipe and flowmaster 50 series with 2 3/4 inch piping (is that possible?)
Trickflow street heat upper intake.. Should I go for the track heat??
Im not sure what the best lower intake is yet, I know of trickflow and edel.. I dont know if C&L makes a lower for the 5.0..
What cam would be best to use for this setup??
Are 1.7 RRs better than 1.6 for this setup??
What kind of lifters/heads pieces do you recommend???
Thanks in advance!

PS - Yes I searched.

RE: Questions about Heads, Intake, Cam combo..
exactly wich of the seven questions do you want us to answer.
ok I'll start with one.
as for the 1.6/ 1.7 rockers. what kind of Cam do you plan on running?

Not to be rude, but by this post I'm not assuming he knows much about cams.
Don't be taken back by that remark, very few do understand how cams work, what lift, duration, and overlap is, plus a few more things... I HARDLY do now and that's after reading about 8 articles on the subject.
What are you using the car for? Drag, street, road racing? That should give these guys a better idea of how to help this.
The roller rockers effectively change the lift ratio of the valves as far as I understand it. So 1.6's with one cam in theory would bring the same lift as 1.7's with another. What you may have to worry about is valve clearance.
I still don't have a solid answer as to what lift compared to duration does for HP or torque, hopefully someone can answer that for the both of us.

I definitely want this to be the best daily driver/"street racing"/occassional track setup..
Your right, I have no idea about cams.. Im going to have to pay someone to degree it... I am fine with everything else, I just never ever learned or taught myself about cams...
thanks, I wasnt aware I left out critical information...

if you plan on mixing and matching parts your best plan is to get a custom ground cam. little more pricy, but better in the end. You can also look into the top end kits that they sell. maybe a lil easier if you dont feel like mixin and matchin and a little cheaper

the AFR 165s are nice because they will work with the stock bottom end, 185s usually require piston notching and usually too much for a 5.0 unless you're running a serious setup or a lot of boost, the 165s flow very well and will work fine with a nice head/cam setup, and even boost.
