id run a c4 (3 speed auto). you can build them to handle way more then 600hp and with a good stall, internal parts, manual valve body, etc. you can make it hit every gear like it was a stick power shifting but it will be more consistant.

lol, what happened to all of the guys saying STICKS ARE BETTER NO MATTER WHAT!!!! I can't wait till they get in here. But honestly I'd run a c4 if you're racing it and want to be faster and consistant, but if this is just a street/weekend toy, I'd get one of the 6 spd. trannies.

get a c-4 and stick with it.
Strong, easy to rebuild, small, and ive seen plenty of racers use them and have more CONTROL of thier vehicle.
Get a 600hp and 6 spd and you try to shift, depress clutch , and control / not me.
Alot of city traffic here to, that would get annoying.

i think u guys just inspired me to a c4.
should i run with a reverse manual valve body with a b&m ratchet shift?
also what is a good ratchet shifter?
what must be changed for the c4 to handle 600 hp
