I was hoping you wouldn't have sed that them things are like $500 that sux does any one know were I might get one cheeper?
And can I just take one off an old mass air 5.0 in the junk yard or a swap meet? And if so is there any way to check to see if its good?

i would start my 347 project like i wanted to do to my 94GT.
have a cheap machine shop do the bore and stroke job for your new 347 kit.
new alum heads.
250-290lph fuel pump.
42 lph.
and if you can squeeze it in try to get forced induction some how.
(I bought a S/C Procharger p1sc for only 2000 off ebay. and after installation and tuning, i could smack corvettes all day. ) the max PSI you can crank is 15psi i heard. but i only do 11.this kit usually comes with the chip, injectors, FMU, but those parts were missing. so i had to deal with alot of stock components.

If I were in your shoes I would definitely get a mass air conversion. Then (this is just me because I have the resources) I would yank the engine and spend about $1,000-$1,500 on some really high quality internals including a steel crank, forged low comp pistons (so you can boost it), steel rods, a hotter cam, aluminum roller rockers, and new rings, bearings and gaskets so you have a completely fresh bottom end. Then I would get some P&P AFR aluminum heads, a P&P Trickflow track heat intake, BG or Holley fuel pump, bigger injectors, new spark plugs, and if you have enough left, an MSD 6AL box and Blaster 2 coil. That way you'd have a rock solid foundation for a power booster. You could cram more boost in there if you get some low comp pistons so you'd get more overall power if/when you do get a blower.
