today i got in my car and i tried to start it and i heard this schreeching noise and im like wtf is wrong with her now. But i look at my gas gause it it says i have like a 1/5 of a tank but i've started to not believe lately. So my question is has anyone ever had a problem with their gas gauge being faluty and is that just like a gas cable or is it something big. And what is the actual size of my gas tank.. i think the max i every put in was like 13 gallons.

i was saying the cable b/c i thought that the tank was pulley and cable driven meaning thats how the car read it if it was low

Your fuel gauge is electronic and the sending unit is electrical.... it can break... mine did and had to be replaced...

mine is dead too. never moves from empty and my haynes manual says i have a 15.40 gal tank. i have a 90 lx 5.0

Mine used to not move until I hit a massive bump one day and it fixed it, NO JOKE.

my car had a screeching noise one day too, the smog pump seized and the belt was turning on a still pulley.
I dont think a screeching noise would have anything to do with fuel.
