5.0L (1979-1995) MustangTechnical discussions on 5.0 Liter Mustangs within. This does not include the 5.0 from the 2011 Mustang GT. That information is in the 2005-1011 section.
I had a 4.10 and tried the 4.30, I didn't pick up any in the 1/8 or 1/4. All I lost was fuel mileage. I still have the 4.30 if you want to buy it to try.
You guys are all forgeting to ask how tall of a tire he is going to use, tire diameter has an effect on overall gear ratio and needs to be considered when choosing a gear.
go 4.10'.... my friend has 5.13's in his 79 camaro ( i know its a chevy and i should hate his guts) and he runs out of rpms 100' before the finish line and has to shut down, he's droppin down to 4 something...

This is true but most of the time people run the stock tire size.
+1 on the 4.10s. My buddy has 4.30's which are great at the track. But forget driving it on the interstate, or above 55mph consistently for that matter. (He has an auto though).
