i will be doing an 8 hour drive in my 5.0 in a few weeks. Its and 87 body with an 93 engine. with about 100,000 miles on the engine 224k on the body. what should i do as far as a tune up to be ready for the road. the only problems i have with it now other than the tranny being stupid is at idle my car likes to pulse alot! sometimes getting to the point of stalling. Also at idle my lights dim and battery dies a lil. again to the point of stall? what is that. Also what should i do as far as a quick tune up to get ir road worthy and not breadk down with the good ole Found On Road Dead syndrome lol. gotta love em. i just changed plugs, so i was going to say cap and rotor, change oil, coolant, tranny fluid(5speed), break fluid, clean air filter??? what else should i do for it??? please gimme any tips/suggestions im open to all info to make my stang better.
