How do you adjust idle speed on EFI?
How do you do it?
My alt is not charging enough at idle with my underdrive crankshaft on and while my electric fan is spinning. I have noticed that when I press the gas down just minimally to the point where my RPM's don't even move on the tach, my voltage meter will go back up to normal.
My hope is that adjusting my idle speed maybe around 50RPM's higher (to about 750 or so), my alternator will be charging at all times. How do I achieve this?

you will need a better amp alt or idle it higher... im not fond of underdrive pulleys myself..dont cool as good and alt is at less strength...but use a timing light and check ya mark....start at 10 and work ya way from there usually.

You can reset base idle a little higher by unplugging the IAC (and tps helped me) and unhooking the battery for 30 minutes. Hook battery back up and start the car and adjust the idle were you want it by turning the idle screw on the throttle body. Then plug the IAC back in and let it run for 2 minutes, shut it down and then plug the tps back in and then re set tps to about .98 volts. That is how I do it. I set my idle around 850 rpms.

You think I'll have problems if i just turn the screw a little bit? I just want to raise it about 50 RPM's MAX to around 750 or 800 MAX.
What screw do I turn? I have a stock TB, and I really don't want to screw with the tps.

It should be easy to turn it, but you might want to check you tps after doing so just in case. It is easy to do, al you need is a volt meter. I guess you can turn it and still be ok...do it and find out, just count how many turns you move it.

adjust the idle screw with a screwdriver and then check tps voltage with a meter, set your idle rpms to 900 with the 3g alternator and your setup, it will work much better, then move onto advancing the timing to 12-14* with a timing light, also you may want to clean the TB, IAC, and MAF with carb cleaner while your messing around with the idle.
