1.7 roller rockers

I was thinking about installing 1.7 Trick Flow roller rockers on my car. Car has a stock cam and stock heads. Is this good idea to help me get some more power, or should I go with a different cam first? Also would I have to upgrade my valve springs?

Best thing you can do, get a set of GT40 heads or 1969/1970 (C9 or D0) casting 351 heads, theyre basically the same thing as the GT40's. Then get a B303 and the 1.72's. Does your car have cast iron exhaust manifolds??? If so get some headers. If you car is mostly stock, then you have single exhaust. Get an H-pipe and some nice mufflers. Take care to not damage your OE stuff. That right there will make your car A LOT faster than what it is now.
But to answer your question, just gettin 1.72's you probably wont notice a difference. If you do itll be VERY minimal.

RE: 1.7 roller rockers

Ok I checked out your mods. VERY IMPORTANT --------------GET SUBFRAME CONNECTORS!!!!! In the early 80's cars Ford literally took the coupes chopped the top and made them convertibles. Sounds like no big deal, but it is, when they removed the roof they removed a key structural piece of the car. From 83-86, the floor was NOT reinforced. So its VERY important that you do this. My buddy had to get rid of his '85 convertible because the frame came apart.
Other than that, The only other things I would change is first off your plugs, get rid of them +4's, get some autolites (motorcraft) instead. Then get some aftermarket headers. The factory ones are VERy small and actually restrict flow, you can pick up a nice set 1 5/8" primary tube headers for around $200.
As for the 1.72 vs the cam, well Id say do a cam. Itll be a noticable improvement. But if you do the cam and get some headers, if you have the $$$$, might as well get heads. Itll only add one step to what youll be doing already with the cam and intake, might as well undo those 10 bolts per head and slap some new ones on there.

I do have Griggs full length subframes already on my car, and they did make a huge difference. I'm going to buy headers, trying to decide between 1.5" primaries and 1 5/8".
