Dont forget that with less rotating mass not only do rpms raise and lower faster, you get slightly more power to the wheel, less drop off from the crank to the wheel. Not a huge gain but a little. When my father put a flywheel and dual friction clutch it felt completley different much more sporty, and yes: the wheels will burn much better
