Default one bent foxbody

the other day i was rotating my own tires, bc why pay someone when you can do it your self, and noticed that the rear right tire protruded out form the bumper more than the other wheel did. i took a step back and it looks like the axil is shoved to the right about an inch... i know how easy the foxes spin out and i thought maybe it had been in an accident and suffered a bent frame, however the car looks streight. i had some mustang specialists lift it up and look at it, but they could not see any frame damage at all. i spent quite a bit of time looking at the lower control arms, torque boxes and the upper control arms... and all the stuff that would bend under pressure and found no problems. wtf, i have no idea, does the car have any type of body mounts that may have gotten tweaked in a minor rear end collision??

its a unibody, did you mesure the distance form the upper and lower control ams to the sides of the body, axle , etc., if the axle was moves laterlly an inch the u joints would feel that and you'd hear it, it may be a body issue, take it to a local body shop and find out where the bosy mounts are located, most likely in the trunk and floorpans, does the car track straight down the road? are the front and rear tires in line with eachother?

An alignment machine can tell you if the axle is shifted or not.

Grab yourself a measuring tape and park on a flat surface. Make sure all your tire pressures are equal and nothing is weighting the car down. Now start comparing points from other points. You can use factory holes, joints, etc...

If they are all fine then the rear alignment could be bad...you could be crabbin'

If the rear alignment is out, you'll have to get the axle moved out since there are no adjustments on a live axle rwd Mustang.
